2011 Calendar

2011 Notes:

MLS Schedule: 34 games each, spread over 31 weeks. Most weeks start on Wednesday, making for short turnaround from the previous week, which usually end Sunday. (Except for July 4th, when a week ends Monday, and the next begins Wednesday!) Most of the games are on Spanish television, which is not necessarily a bad thing, as you don't have to listen to Harkes or Martino's bullshit.

There is only one match during "Week" 1!
There is no break for the MLS all-star game, which is on Wednesday, July 27.
Schedules, seedings and draws may be adjusted to avoid two teams meeting each other in two different competitions in the same week.

2010 Notes:

MLS Schedule
MLS has reduced the season from 32 to weeks to 30, but with more games per week, to accomodate the World Cup.
The World Cup runs from June 11-July 11, which means MLS players will miss weeks 9-13 (camp and group round), and possibly weeks 14-15 as well (knockout rounds).
There is no break for the MLS all-star game, the date of which is still "to be announced". (Though sometime in July.)
I will be gone for a week in mid-May. Date also "to be announced".
The Mug'O'Suds will have play-in rounds in weeks 1-2. The 16 highest seeds automatically advance to group play, while up to 32 lower seeds have to play-in. The lower a team is seeded, the more play-in games they will have to play. The number of play-in matches will be determined by the number of wildcard / unseeded / teams without honors that join.

MLS Schedule
MLS has expanded the season from 31 weeks to 32.
There is no break for the MLS all-star game, which occurs on Wednesday, July 29, between weeks 19 and 20.
I currently do not have any long-term holiday scheduled for 2009.
The Mug'O'Suds will have play-in rounds in weeks 2-4. The 16 highest seeds automatically advance to group play, while up to 32 lower seeds have to play-in. MLS Schedule
MLS has expanded the season from 29 weeks to 31.
The MLS all-star game is between week 17 and 18. Week 17 ends on Saturday, July 19, while week 18 begins on Sunday, July 27. (Usually weeks end on Sunday.)
I will be on holiday weeks 19-21.

MLS Schedule
There is no real all-star break (ASB) this year, the all-star game is on a Thursday, followed by four MLS matches that weekend (week 16).

There is a two week break between the Mug'O'Suds semifinals and the final, due to MLS Week 16 and 17 having fewer games (four each) than Week 18 (six).
Cup Number #8247 may have third match replays, causing the schedule to be pushed out a week or two.
