At the bottom of the 1st Division, Cánicas A.C. and Shaolin Mystigods were relegated.

In the 2nd Division, Alewive FC are champions for the second year running, defeating previous leaders Grass Pitch Please 46:26. The loss dropped Grass Pitch Please out of the promotion spots, to third, while idle Pioneer Detasselers moved into second on goal difference +51 to +41. At the bottom, Sasha Juniors and Mike's Ninja Turtles were relegated.

In the 3rd Division, Diminished Capacity and Appleton Aarhus both won, to stay in promotion spots. Diminished Capacity are champions. At the bottom of the division, Vena Cava escaped the ignominy of last place in the entire league, the dregs of the Brew City barrel, by clobbering Kingsbridge 27:6, while C.C. United lost. The bottom three were separated only by 'goal' difference: Geckos (-9), Vena Cava (-24) and C.C. United (-51).
  • A whopping six Brew City sides placed in the MFLS Weekly Top 25: Alewive FC (46 points / 1st place) set the pace, followed by Juice10 and Diminished Capacity (both 43/2nd), then Pioneer Detasselers, Dynamo Silver Spring and Top Shelf (all on 37/4th). That's an incredible six teams in the top four!
  • Brew City News (9-Oct-2012, Week 31)

Shaolin Mystigods and Cánicas A.C. were both relegated with a week to go—Cánicas A.C. despite a 41:28 win over Redneck SC.

In the 2nd Division, Grass Pitch Please remained top, despite being on a bye, when second place Glorydaze lost 34:42 to Alewive FC. The promotion candidates are thus Grass Pitch Please (15 points / +61 'goal' diff), Pioneer Detasselers (15/+51 but on a final week bye), Alewive FC (15/+35) and Glorydaze (15/+18). Pioneer are on a final week bye, while Alewive FC host Grass Pitch Please and Glorydaze feast on mid-table Juice10. Turboduck SC, Sasha Juniors and Mike's Ninja Turtles are the relegation candidates.

In the 3rd Division, Diminished Capacity (15/+20) lead, while the other promotion candidates are Appleton Aarhus (13/+36), Kingsbridge (12/+14) and extreme longshot Dumpley Street Morons (10/+14). There are no byes the final week.

At the bottom of the division, Cánicas A.C. got off the schneid, defeating Shaolin Mystigods 50:40 to give themselves a remote chance of staying in the top flight.

In the 2nd Division, the week's high scorer met the week's low scorer, Aviators stomping a 53:3 mudhole in Sasha Juniors. Glorydaze lost 32:44 to Grass Pitch Please, dropping them from the ranks of the perfect. Grass Pitch Please are now top. Any of the bottom five could yet be relegated.

In the 3rd Division, Diminished Capacity also fell from the ranks of the perfect, the final team to do so, losing 36:45 to Kingsbridge. Due to second place Appleton Aarhus being on a bye, the win catapults Kingsbridge from third to first.

Brew City News (25-Sep-2012, Week 29)

Brew City News (4-Sep-2012, Week 26)

    • League Cup: In the 1st Division, Dynamo Silver Spring continue to lead, but their challengers kept pace. Dudley Street Hooligans, Top Shelf and Arrows S.C. are the stalkers. The 2nd Division has split into the haves and have-nots: Five teams are on six or nine points, led by Alewive FC, while three are on zero. In contrast, the 3rd Division is nearly all even with six teams in the middle all on three points, with Appleton Aarhus alone at the top on a perfect nine and Vena Cava at the bottom on a imperfect zero.
    • MFLS Weekly Top 25: Sasha Juniors (49 points / 3rd place) and Dynamo Silver Spring (43/12th) placed in the MFLS Weekly Top 25.

Brew City News (28-Aug-2012, Week 25)

    • League Cup: In the 1st Division race for the League Cup, Dynamo Silver Spring are in sole posession of the top spot after the other three early leaders managed to notch only a single point among them. (Dudley Street Hooligans 31:31 draw with Sehome Mariners.) In the 2nd Division, three teams are on six points—Grass Pitch Please, Alewive FC and Glorydaze—while four are on zero. In the 3rd Division, hard luck Vena Cava lost by three for the second week in a row, dropping them to seventh, one spot above league prop Kingsbridge. Appleton Aarhus are top.
    • MFLS Weekly Top 25: Surreywood Rangers (54 points / 5th place) and Grass Pitch Please (47/25th) placed in the MFLS Weekly Top 25. It was Surreywood Rangers' first honor in two years, while Grass Pitch Please were in the MFLS Weekly Top 25 for the fourth time this year, and second week in a row. (Barely, at 25th place.)

Brew City News (21-Aug-2012, Week 24)

    • League Cup: In the 1st Division, perennial power Dynamo Silver Spring scored the Blowout of the Week, routing promoted Sehome Mariners 32:1 to take the early division lead. In the 3rd Division, Geckos won the Toilet Bowl, defeating the league's other lowest scoring side of the week, Vena Cava, 6:3. Appleton Aarhus are top.
    • MFLS Weekly Top 25: Appleton Aarhus (35 points / 19th place) and Grass Pitch Please (34/25th) placed in the MFLS Weekly Top 25.

Brew City News (14-Aug-2012, Week 23)

    • League Cup:  Top Shelf  won a champion's match, outlasting Phoenix TS 46:38. At the bottom of the 1st Division, Sasha Juniors and Turboduck SC were relegated.

The 2nd Division was all chaos: Shaolin Mystigods, on a bye, fell to the second promotion spot. Sehome Mariners, who were fourth, leapt to the top spot by the slimmest of margins, a 13:3 victory over Alewive FC, giving them a +16 to +14 'goal' difference. Mike's Ninja Turtles moved from sixth to third, on a 35:9 thrashing of Juice10, missing out on the second promotion spot on 'goal' difference, +8 to +14. Aviators, who were second, fell to fourth after drawing relegated Diminished Capacity 28:28. Dumpley Street Morons were also relegated.

In the fall Championship season, Sehome Mariners will be spending only their third season in the top flight in 24 seasons spread over eight BCFA years. Even more so Shaolin Mystigods, who will be spending only their fourth season in the top flight in 33 seasons spread over 11 years.

In the 3rd Division, Grass Pitch Please and Pioneer Detasselers were already promoted, but Grass Pitch Please seized the top spot on the final day as they defeated Surreywood Rangers 24:3 while Pioneer Detasselers lost 17:28 to Kingsbridge. C.C. United were already confirmed in the bottom spot, but salvaged some respect, gaining their first points of the season, defeating Geckos by a healthy 40:23.

    • MFLS Weekly Top 25: Top Shelf (46 points / 7th place) placed in the MFLS Weekly Top 25.

Brew City News (7-Aug-2012, Week 22)

    • League Cup: In the 1st Division, the top three sides all lost, while #4 Cánicas A.C. was on a bye. That means the new top four—Top Shelf (15/+94), Arrows S.C. (12/+37), Dynamo Silver Spring (12/+23) and Dudley Street Hooligans (12/+21)—have some chance of obtaining Summer glory in the competition's final week. Sasha Juniors and Turboduck SC are hosed. In the 2nd Division, the situation is even more frought as six teams are in the fight for the two promotion spots: Shaolin Mystigods (15/+14), Aviators (12/+49), Juice10 (12/+28), Sehome Mariners (12/+6), Alewive FC (12/-10) and Mike's Ninja Turtles (12/-18). The 3rd Division had the league's top two scorers, and also its lowest: Kingsbridge (0 'goals') benefitting from a bye, while second best Surreywood Rangers (28 'goals') were punished by the bye. Top scorer Grass Pitch Please pumped Pioneer Detasselers 37:18, and are now in the top spot with Pioneer Detasselers dropping to second. Both sides are promoted. Pointless C.C. United are guaranteed to be propping up the summer session.
    • MFLS Weekly Top 25: Grass Pitch Please (37 points / 3rd place) placed in the MFLS Weekly Top 25.

Brew City News (31-Jul-2012, Week 21)

    • League Cup: In the 1st Division, Top Shelf edged Cánicas A.C. 16:15 to stay top. At the bottom, Turboduck SC got off the schneid with a 26:16 victory over Arrows S.C. Despite the win, Turboduck SC are three points, and a massive 148 'goals' from the safety of seventh place. They will need a miracle if they are to beat third place Dudley Street Hooligans and second place Dynamo Silver Spring in the final two weeks. In the 2nd Division, four teams are joint top on 12 points, led by Aviators, with three more on nine. Any two of the septet could yet be promoted. In the 3rd Division, Pioneer Detasselers—the only team with a perfect record, but in second due to byes—confirmed their quality in a Match of the Week 33:25 victory over fellow BCFA old boys Surreywood Rangers. At the bottom, C.C. United are now the only league team without a point.
    • MFLS Weekly Top 25: Pioneer Detasselers (33 points / 15th place) placed in the MFLS Weekly Top 25—it's first honor since a similar result in 2009.

Brew City News (24-Jul-2012, Week 20)

    • League Cup: Usually the high weekly high scores are spread throughout the divisions, but this week they were unusually concentrated in the 1st Division, which had the league's 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 11th best scorers. Top scorer Phoenix TS hammered #11 Turboduck SC 72:43, while the match of the week featured #2 Dynamo Silver Spring edging #4 Top Shelf 60:56. Despite the loss, Top Shelf remain top on 12 points, with a healthy +97 to +45 advantage in 'goal' difference over Dynamo Silver Spring. At the bottom, Turboduck SC are pointless and going an average of 31 'goals' into the difference hole per match. In the 2nd Division, Shaolin Mystigods are top, with a +28 to -4 'goal' difference advantage over second place Mike's Ninja Turtles. • League Cup: In the 1st Division, the top three teams all won, with leaders Top Shelf edging fourth place Dudley Street Hooligans in a 59:51 barn burner. At the bottom of the division, seventh place, and pointless, Redneck SC put a 58:9 whippin' on last place Turboduck SC, who have a whopping -128 'goal' difference after only four matches. The 2nd Division was the antithesis, with the top three all losing, including still, somehow, leaders Shaolin Mystigods by a tame 12:13 to Mike's Ninja Turtles. In the other semifinal, Appleton Aarhus made a valiant fightback from first leg deficit, winning 20:11, but Glorydaze advance anyway 32:29. Neither Geckos nor Glorydaze have ever before appeared in the final. Glorydaze have never made it past the first knockout round (2010 and 2011). Geckos furthest advance was in 2004 (losing 62:80 to eventual champions Top Shelf) and 2008 (losing 19:33 to perennial champions Phoenix TS). For Geckos, it's a quadrennial thing.
    • League Cup: In the 1st Division, leaders Top Shelf played archer to Arrows S.C.'s St. Stephen, 38:18. Top Shelf's 'goal' difference of +93 is more than the actual 'goals' scored by 21 of the league's 26 teams. At the bottom, Redneck SC and Turboduck SC are four points from safety with four matches to go. In the 2nd Division, Shaolin Mystigods moved top at the expense of former leaders Glorydaze, defeating them 20:11. The leaders are Top Shelf (1st Division), Glorydaze (2nd Division) and Vena Cava (3rd Division).
    • FA Cup: In the first leg of the semifinals, Redneck SC drew Geckos at 19, while Glorydaze plucked Appleton Aarhus 21:9.
    • MFLS Weekly Top 25: No Brew City side placed in the MFLS Weekly Top 25.

    • MFLS Weekly Top 25: No Brew City side placed in the MFLS Weekly Top 25.

Brew City News (20-Jun-2012, Week 15)

    • MFLS Weekly Top 25: Cánicas A.C. (44 points / 9th place) placed in the MFLS Weekly Top 25.

Brew City News (29-May-2012, Week 12)

    • League Cup: Despite 18 of the 26 teams scoring between 11 and 21 'goals', not a single draw was recorded in the final week of the Spring Championship. Taking the honors at the top of the 1st Division are  Dynamo Silver Spring —the only one of the previous top five to record a victory. Playing the role of spoiler for the second Spring in a row, relegated Alewive FC knocked off front-running Turboduck SC, 24:18. Also relegated are Sehome Mariners.

In the 2nd Division, second place Dumpley Street Morons defeated first place Sasha Juniors 33:21 to draw level on points at 15, but fell short of promotion on 'goal' difference, +31 to +72. Now that the divisions are reconfigured from 10-8-8 to 9-9-8, the Summer season will see a normal two up / two down format. There will be one bye per week in the top two divisions, and two byes per week in the 3rd Division.

    • FA Cup: Pioneer Detasselers lost the second leg of the first knockout round to Juice10, but still advanced 40:29. In fact, no first leg loser was able to overcome the disadvantage. Redneck SC won both legs to advance 44:17 over Aviators. Geckos lost the second leg to Grass Pitch Please, but advanced 39:20. Shaolin Mystigods almost bucked the trend, defeating Turboduck SC, but failed to advance 40:42. Four-time and defending champion Phoenix TS lost both legs to surging Sasha Juniors, falling well short 29:45. Glorydaze won both legs, advancing at the expense of traditional power Top Shelf, 64:39. Appleton Aarhus and Diminished Capacity staged a near repeat of the first leg's 25:15 result: This week's match finishing 26:15, to send Appleton Aarhus through 51:30. Completely reversing their first leg's unfortunate four 'goals', Alewive FC defeated Vena Cava 24:16, but failed to advance 28:30.
